One of the tasks we took great care in completing during the update of the AHSS Application Guidelines was to provide a definition for what constitutes a third generation (3rd Gen) Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS). We had been asked this question many times, and often in addressing the question among our technical editors, we would get various responses. Consequently, we made it a part of an in-depth discussion with our AHSS Guidelines Working Group, made up of steel subject matter experts from around the world at our member companies.
