WorldAutoSteel Welcomes Ingo Olschewski as New Director
We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Ingo Olschewski as WorldAutosteel’s new Director, succeeding Cees ten Broek, who will serve as an advisor to the organization until his retirement later this year.
With more than two decades experience in the automotive industry, Ingo will lead WorldAutoSteel’s global membership of automotive steel producers to promote the use of steel for next-generation passenger mobility. He previously served as Head of Strategy & Consulting at German automotive engineering services provider fka, where he worked closely with WorldAutoSteel on a number of strategic studies.
We thank Cees for his outstanding leadership and welcome Ingo to the team as WorldAutoSteel continues its mission of advancing the use of steel in automotive applications.
Steel E-Motive Microstudy #3: A Smarter, Stronger Battery System Built with AHSS
In our latest Steel E-Motive Microstudy, we explore the Steel E-Motive (SEM) battery architecture and how Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) can support EV manufacturing.
By eliminating the traditional battery housing and integrating a cell-to-body carrier frame design, the SEM engineering team created a lighter, more cost-effective and safe solution. This innovative structure not only enhances crash protection and stiffness but also accommodates any battery cell type, future-proofing the design for next-generation power sources.
