[VIDEO] What's the Real Vehicle Light Weighting Potential of Steel versus Aluminium?

Roland Wohlecker of Forschungsgesellschaft Kraftfahrwesen Aachen (fka), Germany, explains the topic of a paper submitted to the Society of Automotive Engineers that illustrates what the real potential is for making lighter weight vehicles.  The paper references a study completed by fka that investigates the potential mass reduction impact of aluminium in comparison to conventional steels as well as to new advanced high-strength steels.
